Leasing plans oppposed
The Oban Times

Sir, It was heartening to see the number of people who braved a wet and windy night to attend the public meeting in Lochgilphead to discuss the Scottish Government’s proposal to lease Forestry Commission land.
Thanks must go to Alan Reid MP for organising this and to George Knox, Jamie McGrigor MSP and councillors Colville and Morton for adding their views. There is no doubt the meeting was opposed to the leasing plans.
Having travelled a considerable distance to attend the meeting I did, however, feel cheated that neither the minister or any other representative of the Scottish government bothered to attend. Was this out of arrogance or contempt for public feeling?
