A FAMILY from Gloucestershire have been reunited with their beloved pet dog, which was lost during a holiday in Fort William.
White German shepherd dog Buster caught the scent of a deer as the family went for a bike ride along the Great Glen Way.
But after a heart-wrenching 10-hour drive home to Gloucestershire without their best friend, Kelly, Craig, Sophie and Maddy Lawfull were reunited with Buster who had been found safe and well by Chris Bryant from the Outward Bound Centre at Loch Eil the following day.
Kelly Lawfull said: ‘He ran off faster than we could keep up and not knowing the area at all we had no idea where to start looking. We met so many people who were so helpful, some going beyond anything I would have expected. One couple went back to look after dark. As we had young children we could never have done this. I would like to say a massive thank you to the kind, generous and compassionate people that we met along the way.’
