IT WAS the most romantic pow-wow of all when Simon and Claire Slocombe tied the knot at the wigwam holiday park at Strathfillan, near Tyndrum.
The couple from London and Glasgow had searched high and low for the perfect wedding venue, but when they discovered the 22-wigwam site on the road to Taynuilt they knew they had found their location.
The site had everything they wanted, an outside ‘church’ and good value accommodation for all their guests.
In the first wedding to be held at the wigwam site, the weather stayed dry, although it was soggy underfoot – with bridesmaids wearing matching black dresses and wellies.
The humanist ceremony was performed in the top field with the couple surrounded by all their friends and family.
The party continued well into the night with a specially constructed marquee for the 120 guests who ate a medieval banquet. Smoke signals brought guests from far and wide to a celebration of the century for the unique Argyllshire venue.
