Giant skate is catch of the day

A MEMBER of staff at Barcaldine’s Fusion Marine caught a 160lb skate on a works day out.
Tomasz Talaska and his colleagues from the fish farm equipment manufacturing company were told before setting out on the Creagallan charter vessel that skate were notoriously difficult to catch
But not only did Tomasz catch a giant skate, every employee of the trip caught something, including conger eels and mackerel.
The skate was returned to the sea promptly, in order to conserve stocks.
The staff thanked skipper Colin Currie for taking them out on the trip, which was paid for by Fusion Marine.
