DUART Castle has won a prestigious award for excellence in tourism.
Sir Lachlan Maclean of Duart Castle said his late wife, Lady Mary, and dedicated staff were the force behind his successful business on Mull.
Accepting the CalMac award for Excellence in Tourism at a ceremony in Nairn, he said: ‘We work as a team at Duart and my thanks go to everyone who works in the castle. Without their commitment and belief I would not be receiving this award.’
CalMac, sponsors of the award at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry ceremony, said: ‘The award is given for the castle’s immense popularity and excellent reputation among visitors to the west coast of Scotland.’
