Small boats could be operating illegally as new exam structure behind schedule
SMALL passenger ferries on the west coast could be facing a shortage of boat masters because of an 18-month delay by the coastguard in bringing in new licences.
Some small boats could also be operating illegally as the Marine and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is 18-months behind schedule in providing exam structures in line with new European boat masters’ licensing laws.
