Seaplane takes off on Mull
New service flies in to Tobermory Bay
Published: 17 April, 2008
THE journey time from the Isle of Mull to Glasgow is set to be slashed to 35 minutes as a new seaplane begins daily flights to and from Tobermory.
Following the success of flights from Oban to Glasgow, Europe’s first city-centre seaplane service, run by Loch Lomond Seaplanes, is to launch flights to and from the island today (Thursday).
The service, which will use a nine-seat Cessna 208 and operate from March to November, will slash the journey time from Mull to Glasgow which can currently take up to five and a half hours by road and ferry.
