WHEN Scotland’s most famous family,The Broons,has a wedding,who else to hire but Oban High School Pipe Band?
Featuring as Hector Broon and his Piper Laddies,the group was hired to help celebrate Maggie Broon’s marriage to Dave MacKay,who featured in the strip some years ago before mysteriously vanishing from the storyline.
The story of the ill-fated wedding is now told in full as part The Broons and Oor Wullie Giftbook Classic Strips from the 70s. It comes with a CD recording of Maggie’s wedding reception,which went ahead despite the lack of a marriage.
