New bus entrance causes closure

WESTERN Isles Council is advising that due to site works at the former school building at The Nicolson Institute,the pedestrian right of way along Springfield Road –commencing from the Smith Avenue junction and which leads to the Sandwick Rd via the side of Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais –will be temporarily closed from October 13 to 24.

The restriction is to allow the the construction of a new bus entrance and turning area.

The school bus drop-off will continue to take place at the Smith Avenue terminal in the usual manner. The new bus turning area is scheduled for completion in January.

The Comhairle,Sgoiltean Ùra and FMP would like to thank local residents and other members of the public for their continued patience and understanding.
