KYLES Athletic were crowned Scottish champions at Oban on Saturday September 15 2012 after a pulsating Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final which saw one of the largest crowds to attend a shinty match in recent years engrossed in an end-to-end,11-goal thriller.
The 90-minutes were also a personal triumph for Kyles’ forward Roddy MacDonald who netted four times as his team recovered from a 4-2 half-time deficit to win 5-6 in the closing minutes.
MacDonald was unanimously awarded the Albert Smith Memorial Medal for the Man of the Match.
