POLICE and members of several mountain rescue teams are currently conducting an extensive search for a hillwalker missing in the Glen Etive area,Glencoe.
The man,who has been missing since midday on Wednesday,September 12,is described as Scottish,in his 70s,of slim build,with short white hair,approximately 5′8” in height and wearing glasses. He is believed to be walking alone and was carrying a large green and maroon rucksack and walking pole. He was wearing dark brown hiking boots,grey and blue hiking trousers and an orange survival pack.
Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team,Oban Mountain Resuce Team,RAF Leuchars Mountain Rescue Team are all involved in the search. Strathclyde Police are also assisting Northern Constabulary with their enquiries.
