A FIELD of more than 450 runners tackled the highest mountain in the UK for the 61st annual Ben Nevis Race on Saturday.
Conditions were such that there was no realistic chance of Kenny Stewart’s 1985 record winning time of 1 hour 25 minutes and 34 seconds being broken,but perennial winner Finlay Wild did his best as he finished in first place for the third year in a row in a time of 1 hour 30 minutes and 53 seconds.
