MOTORISTS using the A83 between Machrihanish and Lochgilphead on Tuesday August 14 have been advised to allow extra time for their journey.
A spokeswoman for Argyll and Bute Council said:‘A large,slow-moving vehicle will be leaving RAF Machrihanish around 9am to travel north along the A83 to Lochgilphead. It will then travel to Salachary,north of Kilmartin,using the A816. The vehicle will be escorted by the police and it will be travelling for approximately five hours.
‘Other road users are likely to experience delays of up to 20 minutes,although overtaking opportunities will be made available. Allowing extra time for your journey on Tuesday August 14 is advisable.’
