Geology student unearths little gems

A GEOLOGY student uncovered an unusually precious pair of rocks washed up on the shores of Loch Linnhe – two diamonds rings.

Ellen Phillips,a student at Cardiff University,came across a water-damaged ring box containing the two valuable bands just south of Cuil Bay near Duror.

The 19-year-old handed her find into local police who are now making efforts to return them to their rightful owner.
