Disgust at charity cash theft

A COUPLE involved in charity fundraising for 50 years say they are sickened by the theft of donations from Mossfield Stadium during a shinty match.

Oban Celtic Shinty Club stalwarts Jim and June Pearson are collecting gate money and tea stall donations at the club’s home games this season. The money is to be split between Cancer Research and Motor Neurone Disease Scotland at the end of the season.

June’s sister,Anne Cameron, died of cancer, while her husband,Duncan,an Oban Celtic legend, lost his life to motor neurone disease.

Last Saturday,Jim cashed up his tea stall as normal and watched the closing stages of Oban Celtic’s victory over Kilmory, only to return to find his cash box had been raided.
