The fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution Oban lifeboat took place in May 2012.
Oban Distillery laid down a hogshead of Oban Malt Whisky in 1994 to mature after 18 years in 2012 and presented it to Oban Lifeboat Station.
The barrel was rolled out in preparation for the bottling of its contents in specially designed boxes and subsequent sale.
