FISHERMEN say they feel they’re being ‘pushed’ away from Oban’s Railway Pier over a new barrier and electrical points installed by CMAL in November.
More than six months has passed since new electrical points were installed for fishermen on the pier, but Caledonian and Maritime Assets Ltd is yet to make them available for use, leaving fishermen scratching their heads as to why.
As a result, those vessels with crew staying aboard have to keep the engines running to provide electricity – using diesel in the process.
