The search was due to resume this morning,May 1 2012, for a missing 73-year-old male walker from the Worcester area,who was last seen in the Glendessary area,north west of Fort William,on Sunday.
A search and rescue helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth supported by members of the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team carried out aerial searches in and around the Glendessary area. Despite more than four hrs of flying time there was no trace of the missing walker.
The search was stood down at 7pm on Monday April 30 until first light on May 1.
Update,May 2 2012: Police would ask that any person who may have seen a man approximately 5’7″,slim build,short greying hair and deep moustache,silver rimmed glasses,bright blue waterproof jacket,black waterproof trousers,brown walking trousers,black fleece,brown leather walking boots,walking poles. Wearing grey Tilly sunhat or black beanie to contact Fort William Police on 01397 702361.
