About 8.25am on Friday 20 April 2012,a two-vehicle collision occurred on the A82 approximately two miles north of Invermoriston.
The vehicles involved were a turquoise Vauxhall Corsa being driven in a northerly direction by a 19-year-old man and a blue VW Golf travelling in a southerly direction,which contained a 46-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.
The Corsa left the roadway travelled down a steep embankment halfway towards the lochside. Two other people,a 46-year-old man and 43-year-old woman sustained minor injury and were taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.
A 19-year-old man (and only occupant) of the other car sustained serious injury was taken to Raigmore Hospital by air ambulance where he is currently being treated for his injuries.
The road was closed for approximately 4.5 hours due to the difficulty involved in rescuing the casualty from the steep embankment and to allow a full road policing collision investigation to be carried out.
