South Uist pedestrian fatality named

POLICE have named the man who died after being struck by a car on the A865 at Ardmore,South Uist.

The body of Archibald Gerald Steele,aged 49,from Bornish,South Uist,was discovered by the roadside on Tuesday morning (January 10 2012).

The death is being treated as a fatal road traffic collision. The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with their enquiries.
