ARGYLL and Bute Community Health Partnership (CHP) has today confirmed that from February 1,Bowmore Surgery will operate from Islay’s hospital.
The move comes after retired GPs David and Susan Latta, who own the current surgery building, served an eviction notice on the CHP. The lease of the building is due to finish at the end of January and no agreement has been reached to renew it.
NHS Highland said this would have no detrimental effect on primary care services in Bowmore, although islanders have expressed concern at the lack of space available within the hospital and at its car park.
