Last Saturday saw the playing of the gents’ April Medal contest at Dunaverty Golf Club.
On a beautiful spring day, 26 competitors took to the course to vie for the prize and it was recently-installed club captain Willie Ralston who produced a sparkling round of golf to lead the way.
A nett score of 60 was the best he has produced for some time and took the win from David MacBrayne in second, who also produced his best with a nett 62.
A club spokesperson said: “Thanks, as always, to greenkeepers Jonathan Barbour and Campbell MacBrayne for the condition of the course and to Moyra Jane Paterson and staff at The Putt Stop."
Result: 1 Willie Ralston 78-18=60, 2 David MacBrayne 74-12=62, 3 Hamish Kelly 78-15=64. Lowest gross: Douglas Neilson 74 (bih).
