People in Lochgilphead say they are ’disappointed’ to see the closure of another popular shop.
Lochside Leisure in Argyll Street closed its doors for the final time on Saturday.
Outgoing leaseholder Craig Lucas made a generous donation of spring and summer stock to The Community Shop, a charity shop run by volunteers in the town centre.
The Community Shop posted on its Facebook page: “Big thank you to Lochside Leisure for its generosity.
"Sadly they closed their doors on Saturday, but have kindly donated many brand new items they had left, including some great children’s clothes, socks, hats etc.
“We even got given a great Christmas tree so the shop is guaranteed to look festive in December!
“Thanks for your kindness Craig and we wish you all the best for the future.
“These items are all in the shop now and marked down at accessible prices so pop along and have a look.
"Remember shopping with us will help people locally as all our profits will fund support for the community too.”
Lochside Leisure provided outdoor clothing for people of all ages - everything from wellies, to socks, boots, jeans and jumpers.
Speaking on Wednesday, Mr Lucas said: “It’s sad. We need to promote Lochilphead. Tarbert was really busy this morning and we’re in Lochgilphead shut.
“I made a lot of good friends along the way; I will miss every customer who walked through the doors.”
He has a background in horticulture, so is working on a few gardening jobs throughout the summer while he decides what to do next.
The lease for Lochside Leisure is now being marketed by Stewart, Balfour and Sutherland.
